The Old Vicarage   AndoverPlus    HampshirePlus

Detailed Description

Surprisingly difficult to find with the relatively new town centre, an early Georgian building which is very impressive when entering the one way street towards the centre of Andover. The main body of the house has five bays and is two storeys high, like many buildings of the Georgian period in Andover it is stuccoed. Across three bays of the five is a pediment with a small arched window, which probably had a view across to the old medieval Church, this view to St Mary is now restricted from trees. The Ionic porch is in reasonable condition with the exception of the flat roof, although it is still in keeping with the building. There are also two storey wings to the building that compliment the design of the house very well with sash framed windows.
